A: Mainly sablefish as well as some rockfish, and Alaska Cod.
Q: Can you share fun facts about your Vessel name?
A: My vessel was built in 97’ in Coos Bay, Oregon and named after an Island in Southeast Alaska nearby where I started my fishing career.
Q: What sustainable fishing practices and/or gear types do you use?
A: We use hook and line coupled with some fishing with pots.
Q: What is your crew size for these fisheries?
A: We have 5-6 crew depending on fishery and/or trip length.
Q: What do you love most about life on the water?
A: I love getting away from the static of everyday life and business details required from the shore-based institutions. I enjoy being in nature and the challenge of harvesting fish.
Q: What is your favorite type of fish to catch or favorite method of fishing and why?
A: My favorite is the groundfish and halibut by hook and line. Although, the favorite part heightens when either the rate of catch and/or the price is good.
Q: What is your favorite fish or seafood to eat and why?
A: Sablefish and King Salmon because they are buttery and richest in Omega 3’s. I also like Alaska Cod because it’s a nice flakey white fish that can be prepared in many flavorful ways.
