Our Roots
Sea to Shore Seafood Co. was founded with a mission to combine a passion for fishing and sustainability, creating and supporting both a healthy fishery and a thriving marine ecosystem.
Why? It’s in Chelsea’s blood. Truly.
Chelsea began her fishing career at just three days old. A fourth-generation fisherman—and a third-generation female fisherman—from Petersburg, Alaska, she literally grew up on a fishing boat. Commercial fishing has never been just a job; it has always been a way of life. By the age of 18, after years of working as a deckhand, Chelsea earned her place as captain of her own vessel and crew.
Today, Chelsea carries forward the vision of Sea to Shore, expanding the company into mainly a family-sourced seafood business. Working alongside trusted fleet partners and fellow fishing families, she is committed to traceability, sustainability, and fairness. The fish brought to market carries with it the story of the fishermen who caught it, ensuring customers can trace their seafood directly to the source.
Processing continues to take place onboard the vessels, maintaining Sea to Shore’s uncompromising quality standards. Chelsea also ensures that fishermen are paid fairly—above market rates—helping strengthen fishing families and coastal communities alike.
